سنگاپور با متوسط سرعت اینترنت ۳۱.۱۹ مگابیت بر ثانیه در جایگاه دوم ایستاده و مجارستان نیز با متوسط سرعت اینترنت ۲۶.۱۵ مگابیت بر ثانیه جایگاه سوم را به خود اختصاص داده است. جالب است بدانید ایران با رسیدن به متوسط سرعت اینترنت ۵.۱۳ مگابیت بر ثانیه در جایگاه هفتاد و سوم قرار دارد.
OpenSignal این اطلاعات را با استفاده از جمع‌آوری داده‌های شبکه موبایل از ۹۵ کشور دنیا به دست می‌آورد. روش جمع‌آوری این اطلاعات نیز استفاده از اپلیکیشن OpenSignal بر روی گوشی‌های اندرویدی و آیفون‌ها توسط کاربران است.
در گزارش‌های کمپانی OpenSignal آمده که وای‌فای محبوب‌ترین نوع ارتباطات بوده و البته جای تعجبی ندارد. در بیشتر مناطق، اینترنت بی‌سیم سرعت بیشتری نسبت به شبکه‌های موبایل داشته و به همین دلیل کاربران به سمت استفاده از ارتباطات بی‌سیم می‌روند.
با وجود اینکه در ایران تنها ۳۶.۸۸ درصد از ارتباطات با اینترنت وای‌فای است، شهروندان کشورهایی مانند هلند، چین و نیوزلند بیشتر از وای‌فای استفاده می‌کنند که می‌تواند به دلیل گستردگی زیرساخت‌های ارتباطات وای‌فای عمومی در مناطق مختلف شهرهای این کشورها باشد.
کره جنوبی بار دیگر توانست به عنوان کشوری که سریع‌ترین سرعت اینترنت را به شهروندانش ارائه می‌دهد شناخته شود. هرچند باید صبر کرد و دید با آمدن اینترنت 5G چه تغییراتی رخ خواهد داد.
